  • Since Andre's shown me to freely browse ytmnd.com, I've become quite a fan.  Screw that trumpet-infested version of a good Cure song, it's way too close to the sane person's kind of music.  Here's a little something I keep hearing on ytmnd, from the Marilyn Manson of the 60s- the always terrifying Tiny Tim

  • Stepdad Tom (the music guy) has introduced me to the Cure.  Much of their stuff I find uninteresting; much of their stuff I love.  I liked this song a lot, although I cannot find the right version of the song, but this will do.  Now that I've listened to them, I can say that they were clearly an inspiration to that Boy Omega guy I like, who, I can now say, I prefer to the Cure.  Still, Cure's pretty good, and they're ultimately a good influence on modern music.  EDIT- Crap, I've listened to more of this, and I realize now that the song has been completely ruined by a trumpet- a trumpet that bellows loudly over the main thing I like about the song.  Sorry folks.

Yesterday (or rather, the day before, since this is technically Sunday) was the super-duper pool party.  It was super-duper.  To Kali and her parents I offer the utmost apprectiation and gratitude.  And, of course, I wish you a very happy birthday, etc., etc.  I would say it was the most enjoyable time I've had within any two consecutive hours this summer.  That water park is crazy.  Whirpools and water slides and diving boards.  My God, it was remarkable.  I also got to see several people who I haven't gotten to see in a long time, including but not limited to:  Kali herself, Hailey, Gabi, Rachel, John, and a myriad of people who know people I know.  And at one point they played Ween.  So yes, that was good.

Today I hung out at my uncle's house for a family get-together with Mom's side of the family.  There was very good chicken, and I watched Lewis Black on broadway, and the baby was cute, as was the little dog that kept licking me.  So now you know about that.

Tomorrow (technically today), I'll finally see The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.  Fare well in your exploits, my few remaining readers.

  • New song.  "We Have All Our Lives To Celebrate" by Maxon Blewitt.  I like them lots.

Macas comes tomorrow.  I need to clean up the house and turn the couch, which is currently a dump zone for soda pop and old keyboards, into a suitable bed.

UA Film Fest '06 happens Wednesday.  I have so much copying to do.

I saw A Scanner Darkly, and my mind is blown, and yet I understood nothing.  I take comfort in having a favorite scene.  I can't describe it to you though, sadly, because to do so spoils what little storyline there is...

My Windows 2000 computer is yelling at me.  I tread cautiously enough, but it does not trust me.  A shotgun will solve my problems, or perhaps a baseball bat.
